Combat sports coach Jacob Brennan, husband of UFC women’s bantamweight fighter Hailey Cowan, is listed as the owner of Blitz MMA in Robinson, Texas, which bills itself as the “go-to MMA school for kids classes.”

Brennan, 40, was arrested on May 19 following allegations of sexual abuse of a minor.

The victim, who was 13 at the time of the alleged abuse, filed a criminal complaint with local police last weekend, detailing a period of abuse that ran from 2013-2015 and included “hundreds” of instances of inappropriate contact. The police affidavit revealed texts and Facebook messages that reflected an “intimate relationship.”

Cowan is currently training at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas.

Brennan is being held at McLennan County Jail on $75,000 bond, according to KWTX, and could face up to 20 years in prison, if convicted. A court date has yet to be determined but is expected in the coming days. Cowan, 32, has not competed since April 2023.

Dustin Poirier vows to knock out Islam Makhachev at UFC 302 the ref's gonna be pulling me off of him

Former interim lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier has reacted to a prediction of an “easy” fight from Islam Makhachev ahead of their UFC 302 title clash – claiming he will force the referee to pull him from an unconscious Makhachev next month in New Jersey.

Poirier, a former interim lightweight champion, is slated to headline UFC 302 just next weekend in Newark, attempting to land the undisputed lightweight crown at the third time of trying, following unsuccessful bids against both ex-champions, Charles Oliveira, and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

As for Makhachev, the current pound-for-pound number one fighter, has been out of action since he headlined UFC 294 back in October, where he cemented his status as lightweight titleholder with a first round high-kick KO win over Alexander Volkanovski.

And drawing Poirier next month in what he claims may be his final foray at lightweight ahead of a run at the welterweight crown, Makhachev has vowed to likely finish the Lafayette native with relative ease at UFC 302, in the form of a one-sided rear-naked choke victory.

And responding to the Russian’s prediction, Poirier has issued a stern warning against Makhachev, vowing to knock him unconscious in the pair’s battle at the Prudential Center.

“I’m going to knock him (Islam Makhachev) unconscious,” Dustin Poirier told Yahoo! Sports. “And the ref’s gonna be pulling me off of him.”

In his most recent outing, Poirier rallied in the co-main event of UFC 299 back in March, stopping the run of Benoit Saint-Denis with a stunning second round knockout win in Miami, Florida.

Winning interim spoils back in 2019, Poirier landed a unanimous decision win over recently-minted BMF champion, Max Holloway in the pair’s title fight rematch in Atlanta.

Tyson Fury will activate his rematch clause.

“The Gypsy King” is expected to run it back with unified heavyweight titleholder Oleksandr Usyk this Oct. in Saudi Arabia, cashing in the opportunity to reclaim his crown after falling to the Ukrainian “Cat” in a pinball loss last weekend in Riyadh.

Fury opened as the +160 (8/5) underdog, according to BetOnline.ag, against -200 (1/2) for Usyk.

“He’s back here, he’s recuperating and his mood is that he wants the rematch and that’s already signed for so it will happen,” promoter Frank Warren told Talk Sport.

But will Usyk also sign?

“We are men of our words,” Usyk’s promoter, Alexander Krassyuk, told Boxing King Media.

Moving forward with the Fury rematch could cost Usyk the IFB title because “The Cat” will be unable to face mandatory title challenger Filip Hrgovic, according to Boxing 24/7. In addition, Fury’s decision likely jeopardizes a potential showdown against former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

Usyk vs. Fury 2 is expected for Oct. 12 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.

Tyron Woodley plans return to MMA blames losing run on Apex it felt like a simulation

Former undisputed UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley has confirmed he is planning a return to mixed martial arts competition following his brief stint in professional boxing, and blames his losing streak before his Octagon departure on a lack of atmosphere whilst fighting at the promotion’s Apex facility.

Woodley, a former dominant undisputed welterweight champion under the banner of the UFC, has been sidelined from mixed martial arts since dropping a Brabo choke loss to Vicente Luque back in 2021, fighting out his contract with the organization in the process.

The defeat came as St. Louis native, Woodley’s fourth consecutively, following a string of defeats to former champion, Kamaru Usman, as well as Gilbert Burns and former interim gold holder, Colby Covington.

Making a brief switch to professional boxing in the time since, Woodley first went the distance with the outspoken, Jake Paul, before dropping a devastating knockout loss to the social media star in a short-notice immediate rematch.

Tyron Woodley confirms plan for MMA comeback

And confirming plans to make good on a comeback to mixed martial arts, Woodley revealed he wants to return in an event in the Middle East, after citing a “simulation”-like feel to his trio of bouts in the UFC Apex facility.

“To be honest, when I was fighting my last couple MMA fights it was just kind of like a simulation,” Tyron Woodley told Title Sports Network. “The whole Apex arena deal is kind of wack. It’s like a sparring session, I don’t let people come watch me spar. I don’t like it, being in a weird awkward room. The cage was super small, and I just really wasn’t motivated to be in a fight, especially at the time.”

“Those fights to me are like exhibition fights,” Tyron Woodley explained. “I do think the fans deserve to see me go out there, see me run through somebody, see the Tyron Woodley that they know I’m capable of being and put a proper close to my MMA career. So I’m planning for a big, big MMA fight – possibly in the Middle East.”

More like Bud Light Weenie amirite?!?

Bud Light is back inside the Octagon.

But the beloved party animal Spuds MacKenzie has long been retired, replaced by Dylan Mulvaney the “Bud Light Genie” — who is just some creepy millennial with a porn mustache and the power to abduct celebrities.

This week’s victim is UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier.

“The Diamond” appeared in the beer brand’s latest commercial just a few weeks in front of his Islam Makhachev title fight, locked and loaded for the UFC 302 pay-per-view (PPV) main event on Sat., June 1, 2024 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Fans can win a weekend trip to UFC 302 by signing up here.

“I’m stoked to have Bud Light back in my corner so we can give one lucky fan a once-in-a-lifetime UFC experience,” Poirier said. “With incredible front row seats alongside the Bud Light Genie and epic access before and after the fight, we’re making it easy to enjoy UFC 302 all weekend long.”
